Love has come to mean a lot of things; romance, attraction, care, a bond, a feeling, an object. Yet what does Paul feel it should mean in terms of love? In scripture love does not envy ,nor covet, doesn't hate or seek revenge, love doesn't hate or discriminate. We should seek to love everyone including enemies. To love someone as greatly as yourself, this is last part I've always found hard as I've in the past had little respect for myself , ergo showed little love to anyone, now this is the not what this verse means, yet I feel this what I feel it means to do many people. The mentality of lack of importance, one in 7 billion syndrome. There are those who feel like crap, feel little respect for themselves and by having to little to no love for themselves , and translates into having no love for others. It should be known that God loves everyone very deeply , and has given us a purpose. Without becoming self-serving or prideful, it is important to love the person God has created us to be, and be loving to everyone around us.

ReplyDeleteYou need to do a little more to show you are interpreting scripture. This would mean interacting with specific verses more and discussing context.
